SPI Digital Health: Altera-ior Motives: Can EHR Upgrades Spark Long-Awaited Revenue Turnaround?

It’s no big secret that Altera’s performance metrics over the last three years have been decidedly average. Having posted $950M revenues in 2020 as the Allscripts Hospital and Large Physician Practices business line, things have been heading steadily south almost every quarter since.  

And yet last month a 50-bed hospital in Nebraska announced it was extending its Altera Paragon EHR solution contract by another seven years. Columbus Community Hospital has been a Paragon customer since 2010, and Altera says the contract extension will enable the facility to take advantage of some key recent upgrades to the solution.
