SPI Digital Health: In a Sea of Uncertainty, Oracle Cerner Shows Signs of Turning the Tide

Few EHR vendors have commanded as much attention over the last 18 months as Oracle Cerner. From the headline-hogging $28.3B acquisition of Cerner by tech giant Oracle at the end of 2021 to its global battle for market share with rival Epic and its public problems on a $10B contract for the US Department of Veterans’ Affairs (VA), the company is rarely out of the spotlight. 

And yet the vendor’s relatively serene financial performance since COVID offers no hint of the theatre being played behind the numbers. As far as the revenue column of the Oracle Cerner spreadsheet goes, it is slow and unspectacular growth pretty much all the way.
