SPI Digital Health: Orlando Health Rides the Wave of the Virtual Sitting Revolution

Published: October 5, 2023

Last month Orlando Health, a large, not-for-profit US health system, announced it was launching virtual sitting capabilities at four hospitals in its network.

The new technology, initially being implemented at four of Orlando Health’s 15 hospital facilities in the US, will enable caregivers to virtually monitor patients at risk of harming themselves due to, for example, confusion, delirium, falling or leaving the room.

The health system, one of Florida’s top employers, says the video monitoring software will enable a virtual sitter to speak directly to a patient when detecting a potential incident, at any time of the day or night.
