SPI Digital Health: TELUS Health Takes Another Step Forward, but Mindful of Scaling Challenge

Last month, Canadian firm TELUS Health launched Total Mental Health, an employer-focused online counselling service providing mental health support to employees. Initially offered in Canada and the US, Total Mental Health is accessed via the TELUS Health app. 

The launch comes as global demand for behavioural and mental health services soars. According to a recent TELUS-commissioned survey, 8% of workers in Canada consider their mental health to be in ‘crisis’, and a further 33% consider themselves at ‘high risk’ of mental health problems. It is a story told around the world, and in response more employers than ever are now including mental health support as part of broader employee health benefits packages.
