SPI Digital Health: Wolters Kluwer Takes Next Logical Step with UptoDate

Published: October 25, 2023

Wolters Kluwer Health (Wolters Kluwer) has launched AI Labs, which it describes as a ‘collaborative resource’ that brings the power of generative AI (gen AI) to UpToDate (UTD), its clinical decision support (CDS) solution’. This, it says, helps medical professionals make more informed decisions.

UTD has extremely high penetration into hospitals and primary care globally. According to the Dutch information services vendor, it is currently used by more than two million people at more than 44,000 healthcare organisations in more than 190 countries. It is, the company adds, a repository of more than 12,400 clinical topics that, it claims, are based on the ‘synthesis of medical literature and the experience of expert physicians around the world.’
