Signify Premium Insight: AI’s Route to Reimbursement

The American Medical Association (AMA) has this month issued a Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) Category III code for icometrix’ AI related brain MRI quantification software.

The provisioning of a code means that icometrix’ FDA-cleared brain MRI quantification now has a well-defined route to reimbursement. The code itself does not stipulate any reimbursement but provides a means to monitor the use of the solution, which icometrix hopes will demonstrate demand, which, in turn, could encourage reimbursement to be offered.

The vendor will also hope that, with new treatments on the horizon for neurological conditions, icometrix’ solution will begin to gain traction and become well used in assessing scans for these conditions.
