Signify Premium Insight: Caution and Confidence – A Mixed Outlook for AI

There remains a great deal of volatility in the world of health care and medical imaging. Providers and vendors alike are facing uncertain economic climates. Inflation, and the fluctuations in inflation are making it difficult to predict future costs. Staff shortages and patient backlogs, a challenge which has been exacerbated by the pandemic, mean that imaging departments are flat out. Meanwhile hospitals and vendors are having to come to terms with, and develop strategies to incorporate technological changes, with the adoption to enterprise imaging, the cloud and AI all requiring headspace. On top of this, the summer quarter (in the Northern hemisphere) is ahead, with vacations set to make the execution of plans more difficult still.

This quarter’s medical imaging AI Vendor Sentiment Index (VSI), therefore, proves fascinating, as it reveals how vendors are coping with these challenges, and how optimistic they are about the future.
