Signify Premium Insight: The Nuance of Microsoft’s Acquisition Strategy

Microsoft yesterday made headlines when it announced its acquisition of conversational AI specialist Nuance Communications (Nuance), for almost $20bn. The deal, which is set to close at the end of the year, comes after two years of successful partnership in which Nuance’s solutions were used to augment Microsoft Cloud for Healthcare. Following the deal, Nuance’s CEO, Mark D. Benjamin will remain in place with the Nuance brand remaining, and the company operating under Microsoft’s Intelligent Cloud Segment.
