Signify Premium Insight: Fujifilm’s Vision and the Obstacles it Must Navigate

Fresh on the back of closing its acquisition of Hitachi’s Diagnostic Imaging division, Fujifilm has announced its latest management plan, outlining its strategic priorities over the coming years. The VISION2023 initiative which covers the three years to the end of financial year 2023, details ambitious growth targets which aim to grow company revenue to almost $25bn in FY2023, an increase of almost 24% compared to FY2020. In order to achieve this target, Fujifilm will inject $11bn into the business to accelerate growth in its healthcare sector, which, by the end of FY2023 is forecast to be Fujifilm’s biggest business unit, accounting for almost a third of revenue, up from a quarter today.

  • If Fujifilm translates its vision into reality, its scale and breadth of offering could enable it to steal away some business from the likes of GE, Philips, Canon and Siemens.
