Medica, one of the UK’s leading teleradiology firms, recently announced that it is set to be acquired by private-equity investor IK Investment Partners.

The private equity firm is set to acquire the teleradiology reading provider, under a wholly owned subsidiary called Bidco. Under Bidco’s ownership Medica is expected to be able to invest additional resource into personnel, technology and additional capabilities in a bid to better serve existing customers, as well as capturing new ones.

The deal is valued at $336m, representing a 32.5% premium on the firm’s share price when the offer was made, and is expected to close towards the end of the second quarter.
