Signify Research continue to support local charity AdoptionPlus

Cranfield, UK, 27th March 2024 – Signify Research is thrilled to announce our second significant charitable donation of £10,000 to our local partner charity; AdoptionPlus.
Steve Holloway, Managing Director of Signify Research and Chair of the Holding Hope Funding Circle, presents a £10,000 cheque to Joanne Alper, Founding Director of AdoptionPlus, symbolising their commitment and collaboration in advancing societal well-being.
We firmly believe in giving back to the community and supporting local causes that make a positive impact on society. As part of our ongoing commitment to corporate social responsibility, we are delighted to contribute to the remarkable work carried out by AdoptionPlus. This £10,000 donation will directly support them in making a difference to children and their families, as this covers the cost of supporting children and their families with therapy.
It has already been a remarkable year for AdoptionPlus, where earlier this year they took on their new official charity status, supported by Barnardo’s, having previously operated as a not-for-profit since 2009. The decision to register as a charity came after AdoptionPlus Director Joanne Alper attended a training programme at Cranfield Business School and met other local business leaders on the programme, including our Managing Director, Steve Holloway. Steve and the other business leaders were so inspired by Joanne and her story that they set up a funding circle, Holding Hope, to support AdoptionPlus’ exceptional therapy work.
Steve is now the Chair of the new Holding Hope Funding Circle and has said:
“We were looking for a community charity partner to support and AdoptionPlus clearly stood out. They have a positive and important impact for brave families that embark on supporting and adopting children, and provide a safe harbour for many children that have been dealt the most difficult of starts in life. As we have grown to know the organisation and its diligent team, we have seen first-hand how our support can help them to work on a much larger scale.”
Joanne, who was instrumental in the establishment of AdoptionPlus said, “AdoptionPlus is deeply grateful for the generous Signify Research donation. Their support is directly helping us provide much needed therapy to adoptive families. We are passionate about making a genuine and positive difference to the lives of children who have experienced significant early life difficulties, and the support we get from business helps make this possible. It’s not just the money that we’ve appreciated, it’s clear that the team at Signify Research really want to help us make a difference to children’s lives”.
The incredible work AdoptionPlus provide has long been valued, but they are taking their new charity status by storm and have notably already been nominated for a MK inspiration award under the category of ‘Outstanding Local Charity’! About AdoptionPlus
AdoptionPlus is an adoption and therapy charity with a difference. Based in Buckinghamshire they offer a range of developmental and relational trauma therapy services to children and families, as well as providing professionals with its expert led therapeutic training services.
Adoption is a lifelong journey that has lifelong impacts. AdoptionPlus provides its families with access to effective therapeutic adoption support if ever, or whenever they need it, throughout childhood. AdoptionPlus works to ensure that children who are not able to live with their birth families, are able grow up in safe, nurturing and healing families where they can develop to their full potential. Childrens welfare, safety and needs are at the centre of our work, but we also recognise the impact that adoption has on the birth families whose children are removed and adopted.
