Bayer and Hologic, Inc. recently announced a collaboration to deliver a coordinated solution for contrast-enhanced mammography (CEM), aiming to streamline the purchasing process for radiologists and imaging facilities to provide a seamless set-up and ongoing, supportive educational resources. The partnership brings together Hologic’s mammography gantries and Bayer’s CEM-approved injection systems to enable the administration of contrast media during a mammography examination.
The combination of the two companies’ technologies promises a unique offering and could help further cement Hologic’s position at the forefront of the mammography market; however, the commercial benefits of the collaboration may take some time to fully materialise.
