The Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) market, though still facing a number of teething issues, has potential for significant levels of growth over the coming years. Since Signify Research’s 2022 iteration of its Remote Patient Monitoring – World report, the market has evolved, but still faces several of the same challenges as it did two years ago. The push both during and post-Covid towards more decentralized and virtual models of care delivery continue to steer the market towards further RPM adoption, the pressures regarding a challenging economic climate remain, along with providers burdened with tight operating margins and the ever-present issue of staffing shortages.

The digital health market was inundated with several announcements off the back of the ViVE 2024 conference last month. As it pertains to high-acuity telehealth, many announcements over the last year have related to the growing uptake of virtual nursing and virtual sitting technologies, along with the introduction of Gen-AI capabilities within telehealth applications.

arlier this month, Georgia-based health system Emory Healthcare announced the launch of a pilot of AI-powered virtual inpatient monitoring in two of its hospitals in a collaboration with Andor Health. In the announcement, Emory Healthcare stated that the technology will support in providing additional safety for at-risk patients.
