Lunit has announced a collaboration with Samsung Electronics to integrate its AI technology into Samsung’s premium X-ray devices. Under the three-year supply contract, Lunit will supply Samsung with two AI-powered chest screening solutions: Lunit INSIGHT CXR and Lunit INSIGHT CXR Triage.
Samsung’s X-ray devices equipped with Lunit’s technology are expected to be primarily deployed in intensive care units (ICUs) and emergency rooms (ERs), initially targeting the US, Canada and Europe before expanding to the Middle East, South America, and Southeast Asia.
This deal is another positive move for Lunit after its recent acquisition of Volpara, however, with similar examples present in the medical imaging AI market, from Lunit itself and others, can it shift the needle significantly for Samsung?
