The medical imaging market is set for a period of innovation and evolution with disruptive forces shaping a new future for imaging modalities. Changes within local manufacturing and outpatient imaging are set to change market dynamics. Emerging markets will be important regions to invest in for vendors to secure substantial global market shares. Provider adoption of edge AI technology and increasing pressures on pricing will see vendors re-evaluate strategies and research and development priorities, to meet customer needs and differentiate in an increasingly commoditised market.

The digital health sector continues expanding rapidly, with patient engagement solutions gaining prominence. In recent years, the market experienced robust double-digit growth, driven by the increasing adoption of technology in healthcare fostered by the COVID-19 pandemic. With a market size reaching USD2.1 billion in 2022, the patient engagement market is expected to continue its upward trajectory, reaching USD3.8 billion by 2027.

Signify Research recently updated its analysis of the Infusion Pumps market. In the second edition of the global report, Signify Research noted a downgrade in its previous market projections for 2022 on the basis of purchasers being more cautious post-pandemic. Product recalls, supply constraints, market saturation and ongoing inflationary pressures continued to hamper revenue growth.
